Notepad++ is only developed for Windows Platform by its developers but today it also available for Ubuntu through a snap package. In this tutorial, you are going to learn how to install Notepad++ on Ubuntu 18.04.
Notepad++ comes with Syntax Folding and Syntax Highlighting. Users can also customize Syntax Folding and Syntax Highlighting Features according to his preference. You can customize its GUI using the number of options. It also supports automatic word completion and automatic function completion. Before you start to Install Install Notepad++ on Ubuntu 18.04. You must have the non-root user account on your system with sudo privileges.
Notepad++ package is available to Ubuntu users as
snap package. So before we install Notepad++ we should install Snappy package manager by installing
snapd-xdg-open packages run following command in the terminal:
sudo apt install snapd snapd-xdg-open
Next run following command in the Ubuntu terminal to install Notepad++:
sudo snap install notepad-plus-plus
Now verify the installation and check Notepad++ version typing following command in the terminal:
Now you can launch Notepad++ by visiting
Activities -> type "Notepad++" or you can run the following command in the terminal:

Click to Install Notepad++
After clicking on the above button a new window will open of Software Center. Just click on the Install button to install Notepad++.
